Spirit of Baba Harbhajan Singh

Today during a lecture in college one of our prof. told us the story of Baba Harbhajan Singh. I found it so fascinating that I instantly searched in the internet and I was stunned. Baba Harbhajan Singh was an Indian army soldier who died in the year 1968 near Nathula in eastern Sikkim, India. He drowned in a glacier while trying to lead a column of mules carrying supplies to a remote outpost. It is said that Baba Harbhajan Singh’s spirit warns the Indian soldiers of any impending attacks between China and India atleast 3 days in advance of any war. A shrine has been put up at the site of his ‘samadhi’ and it is believed that Baba visits that area every night, puts on his uniform and regulation boots and does his rounds l.

His story made me wonder whether everything said about his spirit is true or is it a myth. But no matter what I think it is quite a motivational factor among the Indian army soldiers who are protecting the India-China border. They have faith that the spirit of Baba Harbhajan Singh is protecting them.

Do you think these stories are true? Share your opinion with me in the comment box 🙂
